June Donor Spotlight: Susan Allhusen

Hospice Care of the Lowcountry June 2, 2021 Leave a Comment

Seven years ago, Susan Allhusen was introduced to hospice care when her mother was in need of end-of-life services.

“Even though my mother was only on service for a few days, the impact was greatly felt,” said Susan.

Susan currently serves on the Hospice Care of the Lowcountry’s Board of Directors and is also a donor to our nonprofit.

“I volunteer and donate consistently to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry because of the advocacy and the relief that is provided by the amazingly talented staff,” said Susan.

She went on to explain that her passion directly aligns with the mission of HCL because she has been a caregiver for many family members.

“The relief and comfort that are felt by families in one of the most difficult times in their lives is priceless. I give because I know how it feels to have an expert available to help guide you and answer all of your questions during the end-of-life
process.”

If Susan had one wish for Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, it would be to reach every patient and family earlier so that the hospice experience and guidance could be more of a comfortable and peaceful transition.

Thank you, Susan, for all you do for our organization, patients, and community.
