Somewhere Over the Rainbow: A Harper Project Story

Hospice Care of the Lowcountry June 24, 2021 Leave a Comment

On June 5th, Brody and Courtney Kenneweg celebrated the first birthday of their daughter Bowen. Bowen is their rainbow baby. A rainbow baby is a baby born after the loss of a previous baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or death in infancy. The Kennewegs lost three pregnancies before baby Bowen was born.

Brody shares,

“I was lucky to have an incredible support system to help me through the losses, but many families do not.  After they experience the tragedy of losing a baby, how do they live through the pain and sadness?  The Harper Project dedicates resources and support groups to these families at no charge.  A rainbow baby doesn’t mean your loss is forgotten. Bowen carries the torch of love we have for those that we lost, and like a rainbow, she is beauty after the storm.”

Instead of gifts for the birthday, donations were made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry’s Harper Project.

Thank you, Brody and Courtney, for sharing your story and helping others who struggle with similar losses.
